Service Writer

Position Summary: 

The Service Writer is the service customers first point of contact with the dealership. The Service Writer’s primary responsibility is scheduling customers repairs, ensuring proper & timely communication throughout the repair and finalizing the repair order at job completion. 

The Service Writer works closely with the Service Team Lead and Service Manager to ensure customer satisfaction through communication and successful management of the repair.

Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Provide prompt, courteous and accurate service to customers
  • Book service appointments
  • Open and close work orders within the required time frame
  • Handle incoming phone calls in a professional manner
  • Deal with customer issues, requests, questions and complaints in a timely manner
  • Work closely with the Service Manager and Service Team Leads for smooth operations of the shop as per Company processes and guidelines
  • Accurately record customers’ truck problems and repair requests
  • Keep customers updated regularly regarding ongoing repairs
  • Gain knowledge of warranty policies & practices
  • Participate in any technical or development training that is made available
  • Perform other duties as required by the Service Manager
  • Perform the role in a professional manner that aligns with the Company’s’ values and ideals
 

Qualifications:  

  • Previous Service Writer or Service Appointment Coordinator experience is required. Similar relevant experience may be considered.

Outside Parts Sales Consultant

We are currently hiring a full-time Parts Outside Sales Consultant. The ideal candidate will have parts or service experience in the oil & gas industry or fleet experience. 

Position Summary

Our business specializes in heavy & medium truck and bus parts.

With a vast selection of inventory, product lines and competitive pricing programs, we can provide our customers with everything they need to keep their fleets moving.

We are currently seeking a candidate for the position of Outside Parts Sales (OPS) Consultant. The OPS is responsible for the sale, education and promotion of our products to customers in their assigned vocation. This role requires the individual to both maintain their current customer relationships and proactively build their customer base through cold calls and face to face visits.

Their primary focus is customer service, achieving projected sales goals and business development.

Duties & Responsibilities
 
  • Providing and maintaining the highest level of customer service

Position Summary: 

Duties & Responsibilities:
 
  • Performing quality repairs & preventative maintenance services on heavy/medium trucks, trailers and school buses 
  • Diesel engine and Electric Vehicle (EV) repairs   
  • Ensure repairs are carried out according to manufacturer’s procedures and in safe and responsible manner within the designated timeframe
  • Performing fault diagnosis and troubleshooting for mechanical & electrical failures
  • Interpreting work orders and technical instruction
  • Follow service processes and repair procedures
  • Comply with warranty procedures during repairs and warranty materials on completion of repairs
  • Ensure service documentation is completed as per instructions.
  • Participate in any technical training or development training that is made available
  • Performing shop clean up and any other required tasks
  • Maintain personal tooling
  • Become familiar with and comply with the company’s safety manual and report any unsafe practices to a supervisor or manager

The heavy-duty mechanic is required to perform skilled repairs and maintenance on heavy & medium trucks, both diesel engines and Electric Vehicles (EV), by trouble shooting major and minors mechanic problems, performing diagnostics and repairing/adjusting all necessary mechanical or electrical components to correctly complete the repair. Heavy-duty mechanics are a vital part of our service team by providing our customers quality repairs in a timely manner to help get them back on the road.

Qualifications:
 
  • Qualified Heavy Duty Mechanics – Red Seal Journeyman Truck & Transport Technician certificate is required. 
  • Minimum of 2-4 years’ experience repairing medium/heavy duty trucks is required. Experience in a dealership environment is an asset.
  • High degree of product and technical knowledge with a well-rounded understanding of on-highway transport vehicles.
  • Strong diagnostics skills
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task to ensure repairs are completed within the required time frame.
  • Organized and self- motivated with good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Customer focused with a strong work ethic to produce quality work in a timely manner to meet the needs of our customers
  • A good understanding of warranty requirements and processes
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work and lift up to 75 lbs frequently
  • Able to work a variety of shifts
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license is required (eventually required to obtain a class 3 license, company training is provided)
  • Cummins or International certification, CVI and class 3 license is an asset

Position Summary
 
The Parts Technician is responsible for accurately and efficiently sourcing and selling parts to customers either over the phone, in person or online.

Heavy Duty Mechanics- Mobile Truck and Trailer Repair


We are seeking contracted Heavy-Duty Mechanics for our Mobile Truck and Trailer Repair division.
 
Position Summary:
 
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Heavy-Duty Mechanic to work independently.
 
You will be responsible for providing prompt quality and professional diagnostic repair and maintenance services to our off-site customers on an on-going and regular basis for heavy/medium trucks, trailers, forklifts and other heavy equipment.

This position is based out of a dealership location and serves customers in the surrounding areas.

Service Team Lead

Position Summary:
 
The Service Team Lead is a leadership role responsible for supervising a team of service technicians to ensure quality work performed in a timely manner. The Service Team Lead’s primary responsibilities include technician work assignment, establishing repair estimates, customer communication and proper repair management to achieve customer satisfaction

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise your own team of service technicians (6-8 employees) to perform quality work in a timely manner
  • Assign and prioritize work to the correct service technician
  • Communicate directly with customers to diagnosis the work required and translate this directly to the service technician assigned to perform the work
  • Provide the customer with accurate repair estimates and keep the customers informed of the repair progress and any additional work required
  • Ensure repairs are carried out according to manufacturer's procedures and in safe and responsible manner within the designated timeframe
  • Interpreting work orders and technical manuals
  • Assist in fault diagnosis and troubleshooting mechanical & electrical failures
  • Comply with warranty procedures during repairs and warranty materials on completion of repairs.
  • Testing and inspecting vehicles to ensure repairs are completed to manufacturers specifications and Government standards
  • Ensure service documentation is completed as per instructions
  • Work with parts team to ensure the replacement parts are sourced for the repair in the most efficient way
  • Supervise and train technicians and apprentices with their work
  • Review completed work to ensure it meets the expected standards of quality
  • Review all work orders when the work is completed and before the customer is contacted
  • Ensure the department is clean and organized to maintain efficiency and meet required safety standards
  • Follows the correct processes and procedures when performing the role
  • Participates in any technical or development training that is made available

Qualifications:
 
  • Qualified Heavy Truck Mechanic - Red Seal Journeyman Truck & Transport Technician certificate or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in the medium/heavy duty truck dealership atmosphere
  • Previous experience in a service supervisory role (lead hand) is an asset
  • Previous International and Cummins experience is an asset     
  • High degree of product and technical knowledge
  • A good understanding of OEM warranty requirements and processes
  • Organized with strong leadership skills
  • Strong commitment to the customer and ensuring quality workmanship with a superior service experience
  • Excellent customer service skills with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills; including Microsoft Word and Excel
